What to Bring

While all fishing equipment is provided, there are a few items we recommend bringing to make your trip great:

• Fishing License - A fishing license from the state of Michigan is required to fish on lake superior for anyone 17 years of age and older, and are not provided by Great Idea Charters. A single day license can be purchased online (here) or at most any gas station for around $10.

• Food/Beverages - Great Idea Charters does not provide any food or beverage on the boat, for sale or otherwise. Our adventures last half to full days, so please be sure to pack accordingly.

• Warm Layers - Lake Superior is known for being very frigid. While some days may start out warm and sunny, the weather can change in an instant. We recommend packing warm layers such as a sweatshirt or wind jacket.

• Hat/Sunglasses/Sunscreen - Long days on the lake can be tough on the eyes and the skin, be sure to pack good sun protection.
